what does Zitelle mean?
Does anyone know what the name Zitelle means? It is my mom's name and I haven't been able to find what it means. She was born in the United States. I think her family background is Welsh. Thanks.

Hi, in corsican "zitelle" means "little girls" (the singular form being zitella).
And I'f I remember well, it's also the name of a church in Venice.
Check Zita.

Are your mother's parents still living so you can ask them where they found the name?
It certainly doesn't seem to be Welsh -- the letter "z" seems to be very rare in the Welsh language, if it exists at all. My best guess would be that Zitelle is simply a "fancified" version of Zita, unless someone else has better information.
