Mom was just telling me about a few of our ancestors, and one that sounded particularly interesting was a man named Armistead/Armistad (we're not sure of the spelling). I was just wondering if anyone knows what the meaning for this first name might be, or where I could find it? (I've found a few sites on a family crest, but nothing that seems to fit).
