Japanese names
Was thinking it would be nice to see a more efficient and accurate system for the Japanese names on this site since there can be so many kanji possibilities for the same names (I have a whole file of name kanji on my computer) and many of the more current Japanese names aren't on the list, but some from the list are quite dated.

I think that including every kanji possibility for every name would be far beyond the scope of this site. It's difficult even to list all the most common ones. There used to be a (Japanese-language) website with every known Japanese girls' name listed with every known kanji spelling, and it was tens of thousands of names long. Unfortunately, it seems to have been taken down.
I contributed a long list of Japanese names including all that have been on the top 100 for the past couple of years. I don't know if they have all been added yet, but that should account for at least the more popular current names =). Having older/traditional/dated names (for instance, girl's names ending with -ko) on the site shouldn't be a problem as there are certainly many, many Japanese who still have these names.

...maybe not having every kanji possible, but either having some more OR a standard note under each name (since not all go specifically to the Jpns. list) stating that the kanji/meanings list for these names is incomplete.
Having prn. guides for the names would be good to incl. too as some people thought Aimi was another spelling for Amy... which would be spelled Emi in Jpns.

I have the list from that site as a file if you want it. The follow on site made it available for downloading, though not searching.
would be interesting to check it out
I would love to have it. I did download it, but then was unable to open it although I tried everything I can think of. The site is now completely down. If you could send me the file and give me some hints on how to open it, it would be greatly appreciated! E-mail is csegger@sbcglobal.net .
Remind me (contact info at http://tanmoy.tripod.com/) if you do not hear from me by this weekend: I will try to see if I can convert the encoding to the Unicode standard before I send it so you have no problem opening it.
