Hi all, I have 2 family names that I am interested in finding out about....Carma (my sister's name as well as a great great grandmother) and Loree (sister's and mom's middle name)....also...a name that comes, I believe, from a small ethnic group in Kurdistan...P'Hele. I appreciate your help

Carma - a variant spelling of Karma, the Hindu concept of 'fate' or 'destiny'. It seems strange that it would have appeared several centuries ago, but I can't find any other suggested origin. Did your family have Indian connections (ie the British Raj or similar?)

There are no Indian connections that I know of....my sister was named after a great (great?)grandmother, who was born in a dugout in nw Kansas in the 1800's
