Message: "Name meaning" - Behind the Name

Any idea of the meaning of my name -- Daneen? I've seen it spelled numerous ways besides the way I spell it. Denine, Danine, Danene, ad nauseum. Still don't know the meaning. My mother gave me some nonsense when I was a little girl that it was french(not cap so to not confuse the database) and meant "little lamb". Blech. My french teacher in college said that was a lotta mess. He had never heard the name before and said he doubted it was anything like that. So, any ideas anyone?

i am trying to find the meaning of my daughter's name, we have spelt it Timanah, i have seen it spelt Timana, as a boys name, i put a H on the end tp make it abit different as a girls name, i am to believe it could possible be Maui or Aborigional, hope you are able to help me.

I looked at all the D's under French names and if it is really french, it's probably a forn of Daniel (god is my judge) or Denis (medieval form of Dionysis.)

This is probably simply a modern American creation blending Daniel or Danielle with the ending of names like Jeannine or Maureen to create a new feminine form for Daniel (or Dennis, when spellings like Denine are used.)
