Article in ONOMA
This isn't 100% about name origins, but those of you who are interested in scholarly articles on names may like to get a copy of the special issue of ONOMA, the journal of the International Council of Onomastic Science, that just came out. It is dated 2003 (academic journals are often abysmally late). This issue focuses on names in North America, and includes an article I wrote. You can find the abstract for that article at:

Nice abstract. Too bad I'll never see the journal ... especially since I'm a real, live Deborah!
Haven't you got the article lurking somewhere in your computer? I'm sure it would live very happily in the Articles section ... unless there are copyright constraints, of course.

I think at this point copyright would prevent me from putting it in the Articles section on this site, but if you send me an email (check my profile) I would be happy to send you a personal copy.
Ah, pleased to meet you Deborahza!

Delighted, I'm sure! As long as I don't have to find transparent trousers and an emerald for my tummy ...
