Vasana
I found this name in article about a baby girl who'd been abandoned in a train, and has temporarily been given this name. Apparently the baby is of Kazakh or Mongolian descent, maybe the name is connected to this? From a google research, it might be a Hindu word.___________________________________________________________http://signorinaquixote.blogspot.com/ (updated December 9)"I cooked myself out of a marriage!" Hindu is a religion, not a language. (Hindi is a language, but not all Hindi-peaking people are Hindu and not all Hindus have Hindi as their mother tongue.) Most major north-Indian languages derive from Sanskrit. In Sanskrit, there is a वासना vAsanA which technically means something like ideas based on prior knowledge (I do not know what it derives from), but, by extension, it meant thoughts, dreams, and wishes in general. In modern languages it means desire or wish. I do not know if it is used as a name.
