It doesn't really make sense. Presumably the person was equating cor or corb with the word for raven found in Corbin or the Scottish word corbie. I take it that's ultimately from the Latin. The problem is that Cormac is a Gaelic name and the mac element is Gaelic. The Irish Gaelic word for raven is fiach, as in the name Fiachra.
