Trying to research how Mary Cushman and Lendamine Avery could be related just made my head spin. There were a lot of other family names in there that I wouldn't expect, too. My guess? There were so few people to marry in Massachusetts back then that pretty soon everyone was interrelated. So Mary and Lendamine were probably related a few ways to each other, plus to some other relatives of mine.
As for the name, I'm glad it's not mine. I actually would prefer it spelled Lendamyn, pronounced LEND - a - min. I think Lendamine sounds like some sort of disinfectant.
