FYI in Finnish 'aine' means matter, substance, material.
And in school you're supposed to write it, because it means essay, too.

It's AWN-ya, but if you say it fast (like you were actually saying to someone "Hey, Aine!") it's more like AWN-ye. My aunt's name is Aine and we say it AWN-ye.

I'd say it somewhere between AWN-ya and AN-ya - this is how an Irish girl I knew pronounced it.
