Can anyone tell me the meaning and origin of the name Diocletian? As far as I know, he was a Roman emperor from 284-305 a.d.

Diocletian is derived from "Dias" (Zeus) and "kletos" ("called upon"). In other words it means "called upon by Zeus" :)
