Do you know which culture it is associated with? If it is from India, it would help if you know the spelling in any script of Brahmi origin (i.e. any Indian script/Tibetan/Sinhalese/Thai etc.)

The reason I asked is that there is a Sanskrit word adhIsha, deriving from the prefix a'dhi, meaning above, and the verbal root Ish, to possess, which means overlord, and is sometimes used as an attribute of some of the Gods. But, the transliteration schemes from Indian languages to Roman alphabet are varied, and this is not a common enough name in India for me to figure out.
