A presumed ancestor of mine, Wluuin Stettel (1095) was a Saxon Thane (male?). I'm told that Ulwin is the equivalent of Wluuin. Neither name is in this database. I'm interested in a meaning for either name.

Ulwin is most likely a phonetic derivation of "Elwin," an english name meaning "friend of elves"

Wluuin....

is probably Wulfwin - wulf 'wolf' + win 'friend'.
