Joheved,
I'm curious as to the name's history and how it's pronounced. I'm reading this book: http://www.rashisdaughters.com/joheved.html and it's difficult when I'm not at all familiar the name of the main character!

You might sometimes come across it as Jocheved.
The ch is pronounced rather like ch in the Scottish word loch.

Joheved is from Jochebed (Hebrew Yocheved, the wife of Amram, mother of Aaron, Moses and Miriam).
'Joheved' is a variant spelling, maybe a Medieval spelling, or a Yiddish spelling.
In Holland, Germany and Belgium the name Joheved is pronounced like: Yo-hey-ved.

Thank you! I loved “Rashi’s Daughters” and I have wondered about the pronounciation for a long time. Previous searches did not show pronounciation.
