Ingan
I once knew a girl named Ingan.
Do you know what that name means or where it comes from?
Possibily from Ing names?

It could be an ellaboration of Inga.
It would help if you knew where was she from? My first thought was that it could be an anglicized form of the Gaelic Inghean (actually pronounced IN-yen) which simply means daughter.

Is Inghean actually used as a name in Ireland?
She was born in USA, I do not know where her family may have been from before that. Their family name is Dahl.
Also, she pronounced her name with the ing like the american ending of words -ing. ING-an. Hard G sound.
It could be a made up name. I do not know.

Dahl is Norweigan isn't it? so it might be related to names derived from the Scandinavian/Germanic God Ing
It could be a form of Ingun
Ingun is a Norwegian name. (But the surname Dahl is Swedish as well as Norwegian.)
