Origin of the name Sosia?

Hey, my name is Sosia (pronounced so-see-ah) and I've always wondered where my name comes from. However, the closest I've come to even finding it has been in the name Sophia. No one seems to know where it comes from, and it'd be really practical to find out!

I got the name from my great-grandmother who is from Lithuania, if that helps.

I've never heard this name until today. My great grandmother also was Sosia. Did you ever figure out the name origin?

Zosia (but pron ZOH-sha) is the Polish pet form of Zofia.

So yes, it seems to be Sophia related.

I suppose it could be somehow related to Sophia. That's just my guess, though.
