can anyone help with origin?
Am considering the name KINKA for baby due next week should we have a girl, can anyone help with meaning or origin? beliebve it to be Russian or Polish..
M son is named SAILOR so a traditional name would not be suited, love the name, but dont want to possibly name my daughter something rude.
Thanks

I guess Kinka is a nn for Kristina. It can also be a variant of Kinga, which means "empress" in Hungarian.
I don't think you should use it. Like Anneza said, it's too close to "kinky".
Some nice alternatives could be:
Katya
Cathy
Kate
Carla
Celia

If you are not familiar with the word 'kinky', used about people who enjoy the kind of sexual activities that would make your grandma scream and faint, then you should consider it carefully now.Or, if you don't mind making your daughter the laughing stock of all her schools, carry right on - but don't say I didn't warn you.
