Origins of the name Vladan
Hi, I've been doing some family research lately and found out that our family surname, a part of which is "Vladovich" is a croatian variation on the name Vladan. Our family migrated to Croatia from Albania in the 16th century after persecution by the Turks - this was when the name was altered (in a manner to what is done when a name is anglosized these days). The name is actually the tribal name of one of the Arbanasi clans, not of Serbian origin.

I can only tell you that if your last name came from Vladan, it would be Vladanovich. Vladovich would come from either Vlad or Vlado (I am betting on the first).
