Genevieve
Hello, I have met a girl recently (called Genevieve) who thinks her name means "race of women" yet I know this site says that is wrong!
She says:
Gene: Possibly from "genere", meaning type or "gene", which relates to life and DNA (which relates to your race).
Possibly, we could say "gender". Eve: Eve from the Bible story.
I think she is talking a lot of nonsense but what do I know
Anyway, I was wondering how old the name is? Like how far back in records would I be able to find it
Thanks
Alice

errrrrr... Gene I can see, but Eve has no meaning per se, it is the English and French form of Chava, which doesn't mean "woman"... sorry...
