In this spelling it's not a traditional English transliteration of a Muslim name, because the letter "e" almost never seems to occur in Arabic names.
It is possible that Jeddi is a form in his home culture of one of the following Arabic names, which I found in Muslim and Parsi Names by Maneka Gandhi & Ozair Husain.
Jaddî: "ancestral"
Jadî: "goat" (also Arabic name for the zodiac sign Capricorn)
Jâdî: "saffron"
You would need to consult someone who is an expert on the language his original family spoke to know if any of the above are real possibilities, however. Doesn't the adoption agency know what ethnic group he comes from?
