Malalchizema
My middle name is Malalchizema. I am told it is Mexican for 'Michael' but have not been able to find it. Can you confirm this to be true?

It is not the true form of "Michael" in Mexican-Spanish, but it might be a Native American name that is typically hispanicized "Michael/Miguel."That is to say one might have the birth name "Malalchizema" and be called so on a daily basis. But the babtismal name would be "Michael/Miguel" so that he would be considered protected by that saint.Caprice's response holds water as well, with "Malalchizema" being a highly localized form of "Malachi."

The Spanish (and hence Mexican) form of Michael is Miguel. Malachizema looks like a variant of Malachi.
