Amelita
I've recently fallen in love with the name Amelita. It's obviously for a girl. But does anyone have any information on it?

From Greek Melita
The name is the Latin form of the ancient Greek name Melita, the name of a Nymph from Korkyra (Corfu) and it means 'honey sweet'.

It's most likely a pet name for Amelia. -ita is a common Spanish pet name form, as seen in Anita (Ana), Angelita (Angela), Carmelita (Carmel).
It would have the same meaning as Amelia.

This certainly looks like it's just a Spanish diminutive of Amelia. Where did you find it?
I kind of just thought it up. But, I figured it has probably come from somewhere!!
Well, no . . .
If you just thought it up, then it wouldn't be a legitimate name, so it wouldn't necessarily have any meanings or origins.
However, a quick Google search reveals that there are plenty of Amelitas out there, in Spain and Italy, so you're in luck.
