any info on Rey?
The other day when we had a "if you had a baby today" post I said that if I had a baby boy I would name him Rey, after a longtime hero of mine. Well, I realized that I really know nothing about the name itself. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about its meaning or origin or if it's just simply a version of Ray. There is a user submited listing for it but I'm not sure how reliable those are.

There is also the French surname : "De la Rey."
General De la Rey was a famous South African war hero. They recently wrote a song called 'De la Rey' about this war hero, and it is quite a popular video on YouTube.

Rey means "king" in Spanish. Reina ("queen") is used as a name, but I don't know about Rey.
