EYES-luh, IZ-luh, EEZ-luh...?

I say IZ-luh (like "is") but since it's Scottish & I'm American, I wonder if I'm pronouncing it wrong. Just curious.

In Scotland, according to both Leslie Dunkling's Everyman's Dictionary of First Names and Hanks & Hodges' A Dictionary of First Names, this name is pronounced "EYE-luh", as if it was short for the word "island."
