In my genealogy searches, I have found that Linnie is a nickname for Eleanor and now I wonder if Linnie can be a nickname for Elizabeth. I find two records for one of my grandfather's sisters who also went by Linnie. However, I am finding a record named Elizabeth, but am having a hard time believing that this Elizabeth can be Linnie. Have you ever heard of Elizabeth being nicknamed Linnie?

Is it possible that this Elizabeth is a different sibling, I have had all sorts of surprises when looking up ancestors. My grandparents all had siblings who died young and who I didnt know about until I starting searching.
That said a nn can be anything and doesnt have to be related to the name a person is given at birth.
