Ciela is not in any database I can find - help!
I am considering this name if we have a baby girl. I am due in less than four months with my third child and do not know the baby's gender. Has anyone ever heard of this name? Or have any suggestions as to where I might find its meaning. I was watching a dog show on TV and one of the dogs had this name. I know kind of weird to name my child after a dog but it has to have an origin somewhere, right?! Thanks for any help you can offer. I really really like this name but want to know what it means.

I am only about 50% on this but isn't ciel an ancient Greek or Latin word for cloud or sky? You may want to look into it and post your findings. :)
Ciel is also French and means sky. In spanish it`s cielo.
Well based on the name- it appears to be similar to the name Ciel.

Depends where you come from as I know as an Australian
there are different pronounciation put on names than
what there are put on the same names in America.
I found 2 different meanings from different books...
1. French 'the Cilla flower'. "Choosing Baby's Name"
by Axiom Press.
2. Diminuative of Priscilla. Cilla Black, the English Singer,
has made this name well known since the late sixties.

I know that cielo is spanish and means sky. So I have drawn the conclusion that Ciela is feminine form of the word that has also become a name. However, I am not quite sure is this the explanation you`re looking for.
