Do any of you know who the father of William the Conqueror and the Bishop Odo de Bayeux was? Also, my dog's name is Odo de Bayeux, and do any of you know what "Odo" means ?

Yes/yes to the first question. Billy and Odo were half-brothers, having the same mom (Arlette) but different fathers, respectively Duke Robert I of Normandy and Herluin of Conteville.

A moral pioneer, hundreds of years before the first trailer park, Arlette was married to neither father.

Odo may be an early variant of the German "Otto ", which means wealthy. Anyone know if either of these are related to the Roman emperor's name "Otho"?
