I have a Dutch female penfriend whose sister is called Lieke. Recently my friend has started getting into etymology and she wants to find out all her family's name meanings. This is the only one she can't find. She doesn't have Internet access so I said I'd find out for her. If anyone knows the meaning of the name it would be really helpful, thanks.

Lieke is a Dutch name that is often a nn to Annelieke etc, but it could also be a full name, this is what my Dutch site says:
Lieke is a shorter form of Angelie/Angelika (mostly used in Southern Holland) it could be a variant of Lia.
