Possible meanings of Wilhne?
I am doing some geneology research and came across the name "Wilhne" as the name of one of my Great-Great-Grandmothers. I don't know much about her except that she was born in Germany (either Saxony or Bavaria) around 1850. I'm interested if this name has some connections to Wilma/Wilhelmina or has an entirely different meaning.
Thanks in advance!!!

This is just a guess, but it could be an abbreviated form of Wilhelmine (pronounced just like Wilhelmina).
It was not uncommon back then, at least in England and the U.S., to abbreviate names like Jos. for Joseph, Thos. for Thomas, etc.
