Coppélia?
I found this name on the back of my Julius Caesar book for school; Coppélia Kahn wrote some essays on Shakespeare or something.
It is a female name and I don't know the ethnic background but it's probably French or something. Can anyone tell me what it means?
gratification comes from the doing, not the results.

Not Russian at all
First, the Wiki article doesn't say that Coppelia is a Russian name. And second, Coppelia doesn't look like a transcription of a Russian name. The c would have to be a k, double p's are not common in Russian and the accented e would be way out of place.

You know the play is Russian so...the name is Russian
*guffaws* Um, no.
1) People use names from other cultures in stories / plays they write all the time.
2) The Wiki article you provided doesn't say that the play is Russian anyway. The author of the original story was German, and the creators of the ballet were French (although one did work for a Russian ballet company).

Third
Someone from Eastern Europe would have a better understanding of what is and isn't Russian than someone who doesn't.
Honestly: If you're corrected on the board it means that you're wrong. It's a rare thing and it's only done by people who understand what they're talking to.
