This is definately Irish.
It is not a misspelling, but a variation on more common Anglicizations of the original Gaelic name
The Irish-Gaelic form is "Ó Ruairc." It is a major family of Counties Cavan and Letrim. The name is natively Irish but the root name is Norse in origin.
