Thassilo: two questions
Hi all.
I have two questions:
1. How do you read the name? (Is it THAS-silo, or Thas-SI-lo?)
2. What does it mean?
I think it might come from German or maybe Greek.

TASSILO is an old German name with the stress on the first syllable.
It is a diminutive of TASSO, a name of Langobard/Southern German origin.
It probably goes back to Germanic *dedi / dadi, deed. Another possible derivation is *tato, dad.
