Doing some research for a friend..and they want to know the meaning/origin etc of the name Aniston. Can anyone help me out? I've tried searching all over! Thanks!

Actually I think this is a great help. It seems from a search on Google that all the references to Aniston are either to Jennifer Aniston or her father John, who is also an actor. So "Americanized form of Anastassakis" would seem to be the derivation of Aniston.
The city of Anniston, Alabama (spelled with two n's) was named after a woman named Annie.
