I was born in Middlesbrough in 1961. my name was suggested by 2 cousins who lived in London, they first suggested Marita. My mum liked their 2nd suggestion Mavita. Both my parents and all famliy are/were born and bred in England. I hope you can help.

Did the cousins claim that they found the name somewhere? With your story about it, it just looks to me like they arbitrarily altered "Marita" when that one was rejected. I would assume that "modern creation blending Marita with Mavis" is the best explanation myself.

Zachary is a form of Zechariah so it means the same, click on the names
Zak is a short form of Zachary in its many forms and for Isaac
