You may remember that I asked a few weeks ago if anyone knew whether Malina had a Scottish origin. I am very grateful for all the replies and information given about this name. I am very pleased to say that I have recently received proof that Malina is a female form of Malcolm (meaning follower of Saint Columba - meaning dove). An academic at the Celtic department of the university of Aberdeen informed me that she knew a few Malinas while she was growing up on the Isle of lewis.

So, Malina it is! After all the effort, it would be quite ironic if my daughter hated her name. :)
