Ketevan?
Origin:
I suppose Georgian, since it's the first name of singer Katie Melua, who is originally from Georgia, but now lives in England. I suppose that it's their variant of Katherine and those that apply to that, now she uses Katie as her nickname.I tried to Google it and came up with this (almost) overall result, which backs up my theory of the origin:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketevan_of_KakhetiI became very curious about it and I'm wondering if anyone knows more about it and/or if it really has a link to Katherine etc. I hope I supplied enough to get someone started. Thanks in Advance. :-)

Have a look at this old thread- Lumia describs Ketevan as one of the many Georgian names which derive from Iranian (Persian) names. She cites "Katâyûn" as the original form. Cleveland Evans defines Katayun as a Persian name which means "learned." If this is correct, Ketevan is not a permutation of Katherine.

I can't find any information unfortunately.
I did know a Ketevan when I was in college. She had a Turkish last name (though this information is probably not that helpful). Looking at Turkish and Georgian names, Ketevan does seem to fit more with the patter of Georgian names, but I'm just speculating.
Hope you find something!
