Leentje is a Dutch name, it's short for names ending in -leen or -lena, like Heleen. There is no real translation of it in English (as far as I know), but Lena would come close. The -tje ending is used to make a name smaller (-tje behind a word translates in English as 'little' in front of it), and is also used to make a name feminine. The Leen would be the male variant (I believe that would be short for Leonard or Leendert, but since I don't have my books here rigth now I can't be sure), and then Leentje would be the female variant of Leen.
