need to know the meaning of milena, its my sister's name and cannot find the real meaning. and the name tanya as well.these both are female names and i think they came from russia. not sure thourgh. HELP NEEEDED.

I have heard of several different meanings for Tanya. The first is 'fairy queen' - Russian. The main other is Greek and is 'sun', another is Latin I think and is 'centre' or 'great'. Definately better than fairy princess!
Has some connection with italian too from this: Feminine form of the Roman name Tatianus, which was from the Roman name Tatius, which is of unknown meaning. Several early saints bore this name.

My name is Tonya as well, I found out that it means "standing in awe" some say", Standing in awe of God". I like THAT one!. Yes, it's Russian.
