German name: Wollaeger
What could the last name Wollaeger mean or be derived from? I know it's of germanic origin but nothing much else.

Wollaeger is a very rare name in Germany, I found 5 entries in the phone directory, and all of them were spelled with AE, not Ä. Google gives you some 50 000 hits, most of them in the USA as far as I can see (I cannot see very far, though).
I haven't bee able to find any information, so all I can say is no more than an educated guess.
"Wolle" is the German word for wool.
"Lager" means stock, storehouse
Possibly, Wollaeger once was related to someone who was working at a wool storehouse.
WOL as an element of personal names could be short for WOLF (like in Wolpert).
LAG could be related to "liegen" (to lie), but I haven't heard of this as a element of personal names.
