Archivesmeaning of Alveda
My grandmother was Swedish and her name was Alveda. I can not find its meaning anywhere. I am pretty certain it is a Swedish name, but I am not sure. Can anyone help?

My great grandmother went by Veda. I recently learn her middle name was actually Alveda. She was Swedish but born in the US then immigrated to Canada after she got married. I would love to know the meaning too. Wondering if it could a be variation on Alvah which was also common in that family tree.
