name origin or meaning?????

Hello I found a very interesting name in a book and I cannot find
a site where they describe is meaning or origin so maybe someone could help me out?

Its Merediana or Meridiana, its written i both ways. The first one was in the german book and the second one in the english.

presumably it's an elaboration of the latin term meridian, as in the English word. Ultimately it means 'midday'.
