Girlish names for boys
We were talking about a girlfriend who recently named her son, Sacha Lynn, which we think is WAY too girlie. That got us to laughing about what names may have been given to boys (probably boys who were supposed to be girls).
Anybody know of any really outrageously girlish names that have been given to boys?
Mandy

there is also an actor named Mandy patinkin that played Inigo Mantoya in the princess bride.
It was male before it was female
So I find it stupid and ignorant to laugh at Sacha/Sascha as a boy's name.

Ditto.
To OP,
It all depends where you live/come from. Many people don't even think of Sascha was feminine.

Sasha / Sacha is just as much a male name as a female name. It's a russian pet form for Alex names. In elementary school there were many students from Russia or near-by countries, and almost all the boys were called Sasha. None of the females were called Sasha. My guess is that Aleksandr is a much more common name then Aleksandra in Russia and if that's true then there would be many more male Sasha's in Russian that female Sasha's. As for France I have no clue if there are more male or female Sacha's.
As for opinions on the name Sacha Lynn that should be taken to the opinion's board.

Boy named Mandy
For what it's worth ... my husband's distant cousin was named Mandeville for dynastic reasons, but was always known as Mandy. As soon as he was legally able to do so, he changed his name to Carl, but the family always called him Mandy anyway.

If you wanted to find out about ambiguous / unisex names then you could ask here, but "outrageously girlish" is an opinion. Please take it to the opinions board.

Mandy or Mendy is a boyish bame in yiddish - a pet for Mendel
Mendy, yup.
And Sacha is technically male.

Also Mandy as a full name, Mme. I'm having a blonde moment about his surname, but there was a very fine cricketer here in South Africa who played top-level cricket and might even have represented the country. Can't recall. Opening batsman, good fielder. And his one and only given name was Mandy, and nobody ever even smiled!
Good to see you again!
Edited to clarify: his surname was Yachad, and he also captained the SA Jewish hockey team at a Maccabiah Games (I think that's right).
All the best
Anneza, happy about her sudden inspiration
