German pronunciation

I need to know the right pronunciation (particulary, the stress) of the german surname Badelt (soundtracks composer Klaus Badelt): is it [BA -delt] or [ba -DELT]? Thanks in advance.

I'd say BAH-delt (stress on the first syllable with a long 'ah'), but my German's pretty rusty.
