I have a unique middle name. It is spelled Ray. I was named after a jewish woman from russia. I am curious whether this could be a nickname for either a jewish girl name or a russian girl name. Can anyone help me?

Well, the only thing that would come close that I can think if is Raisa. The Russians pronounce it, "rah-EE-sa," but Americans say, "ray-EE-sa."

The only other possibility would perhaps be Rada (Radoslava), but that is pronouced, "RAH-da," never "RAY-da."
