Does anyone know the origin and/or meaning of the name Eliel? I'm not sure about its ethnic backround, but it's a masculine name.

I searched it on Google because it sounded Semitic to me. I found a couple of different places that say it means "my God is God" and is of Hebraic origin.

Eli = my God (*edit* this is pronounced Ee-lee btw, not Ee-lie)
El = God
