When I was a kid, I dreamed I had a little girl that I called "Tavanny". Have never been able to find a meaning for it. Is there one? Or was it just out of my imagination in a dream?

Did your dream tell you how to spell it? Seriously, it sounds like a combination of names that were floating around in your subconscious... how do you prononouce it anyway?

Tav-uh-nee. I had this dream when I was a little girl (about six) and through the years have always thought it was an odd name... especially for a 6 year old to dream about. I just guessed how it would have been spelled. But have always wondered where it came from and where I could possibly have heard it when I was a kid... as I do not think that is a name I would just dream up... no pun intended. Did that make sense?

A quick google search shows Tavanny occurring in several female Spanish names: Camila Tavanny Pinheiro Mendes and Agnes Tavanny da Silva Reis are two that show up in several links.

In this site, Tavanny is listed as a place name in either French-Speaking Switzerland or Savoy:

The translated page indicates that the name is something to do with horseflies, but I'd check that with a French speaker lol. Online translators aren't the best.
