Is there any truth to the theory that Mirena is the Bulgarian version of
Miren?Thanks!

Mirena is a masculine form of Miren, the Basque equivalent to Mary. It is only used in compound forms: Joseba Mirena, Ion Mirena..."Mirena Masculino

Probably notMirena is one of the many names derived from mir "peace", following the pattern of names like Milena or Slavena.
