What is the correct pronounication of Nicolet? Is it just like Nicolette? NIK-oh-let, or is it NIK-oh-lay? The info on it says its Dutch, but I still find myself pronouncing it NIK-oh-lay which sounds more French to me.

My guess is, if male, Nic-o-leh; if female, Nic-o-let. In Afrikaans, parents sometimes merge names ... say, Susan and Annette, and spell the result "Sunet" instead of "Sunette"; the final -e is regularly pronounced in Afrikaans so they are trying to make the pronunciation clear. Perhaps the Dutch do much the same?
