Meaning of the female first name Junia?
Hi!I heard this name in an early '60's TV show, and I thought it was a beautiful name. I wonder what its meaning is, but I couldn't find it here, nor could I determine its exact meaning via Google. On Google, all I managed to find, is that Junia was a common Roman female name, and that it might be the female form of the male first name Junias (of which the meaning is unknown, too). Some even said that Junia was either biblical or just Latin, or it could be some other form of Julia. I don't know. The name could also be a form of Juno, but I'm not sure...Maybe you guys could help me out? Thanks a lot in advance! :-)Greetings,Lucille

Junia is the female of the latin family name Junius from the Roman goddess Juno, Queen of the Gods and wife of Jupiter. Hence the month and name June. It is also a place in India.
N.B. In the New Testament Junia was, arguably, a female apostle (Romans 16:7).

Okay, thank you! :-)So, I think Junia is more of a Roman name than a biblical name...Thanks again!Regards,Lucille
