Shizuka
Does anyone know the roots for Shizuka?
It's Japanese; I've seen it used as a given name by a female, but it could well be a surname as well...

I think it means 'quiet' I think, as shizukanishite means 'be quiet'.
It may be a variant of Chizuko, "child of a thousand storks"
If you can find out what the kanji is for the name, it'll be a bit easier to find out what it is.
Knowing both the kanji and the pronounciation will give you exactly what the name means since the kanji "alphabet" is really the symbols for different words which the hiragana (one of the syllabic alphabets) dictates which meaning the kanji gets in that particular circumstance.
Phyllis (aka Sidhe Uaine or Gaia Euphoria)
